The floods of July 2021 damaged seven of the district's 13 schools in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and Sinzig, Germany, some of them severely. So in Grafschaft, near the Ringen motorway exit, a whole school site was built on around 20,000 square metres, with 40 classrooms, offices, a canteen, science labs, a playground and a bus area, largely in temporary buildings.
The new multi-sport pitch of the ARE-Gymnasium is semi-mobile too: a SoccerGround Advanced, 20 x 13 m, with a net cage, equipment for volleyball and basketball and Polytan LigaGrass Synergy turf. If needed, it can move in a few years' time. Until then, it is sure to see plenty of use. Have fun!
