Frechen, Germany
The Heinrich-Böll-Schule in Frechen, Germany, is a special school of the Rhein-Erft district for children who need support with their emotional and social development. Around 160 children in years 1 to 4 learn here. Break times are spread across the school day, so only two or three groups are outside at once, accompanied by the class teachers they know. This gives the children a strong sense of security. There is plenty more on offer too, such as swimming, vaulting and football clubs.
For football and volleyball, there is now a SoccerGround mini-pitch: a SoccerGround Classic, 20 x 10 m, with a net cage, volleyball equipment and LigaGrass Synergy turf on an elastic base layer. The boards are faced with artificial turf to reduce noise.
