In youth football the youngest now play small-sided games on small pitches: more touches, more goals, more fun. A mini-pitch gives these games a home of their own, takes pressure off the main pitch and can be used in any weather.
The boards keep the ball in play, the goals are built into the steel structure. The system is the one used for the 1,006 DFB mini-pitches, for which more than 4,000 schools and clubs applied in 2008.

A new small-sided pitch for the Turn- und Sportverein 1888 Dieringhausen, a sports club in Gummersbach, Germany: right next to the main pitch, there is now a SoccerGround Advanced mini-pitch, 20 x 13 m, with ball-stop netting all round.
Surrounded by a scenic regional orchard, the town of Kakenstorf has unveiled an exciting new sports venue: the new movement and community park at SV Trelde-Kakenstorf, designed to bring people together through sport and active recreation.
The LEADER project "Freizeitsport-Areal Pulverwald" in Erndtebrück, Germany, is complete: behind TuS Erndtebrück's Pulverwaldstadion, a versatile sports area has been created.
