Nørresundby (Aalborg), Denmark
In 2013, a new form of company sport had its Danish premiere at Nørresundby Idrætscenter in Aalborg: Kollegabold. For Dansk Firmaidræt and Aalborg Firmaidræt, the first pitch of its kind in the federation was built here, a SoccerGround Advanced measuring 24 x 15 m.
In Kollegabold, company teams play five-a-side on artificial turf, in a shorter and more entertaining format than traditional company football. The first season in 2013 ran as a pilot for the whole of Denmark, with free registration at kollegabold.dk.
Ball-stop nets 4 m high, including the boards, enclose the pitch, and roof netting closes it off at the top. The SoccerLight floodlight system means games can be played after work and into the evening, and the boards carry the sponsor's advertising.
Aalborg was the start of a small series: in 2013, Kollegabold pitches were built across Denmark.
