The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, designed by Renzo Piano, is home to the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera and sits in the 21-hectare Stavros Niarchos Park. Its sports facilities include a SoccerGround Advanced Multisport measuring 20 x 10 m, built in June 2018.
Ball-stop nets 4 m high, including the boards, enclose the pitch, roof netting closes it off at the top, and a basketball hoop adds to the football. All steel parts are powder-coated in matt RAL 9007 grey aluminium. The matt finish mattered to the designer: it gives the court a calm, metallic grey look without shine.
