The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens, designed by Renzo Piano, is home to the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera and sits in the 52-acre Stavros Niarchos Park. Its sports facilities include a SoccerGround Advanced Multisport measuring 65' x 33', built in June 2018.
Ball-stop netting 13' high, including the boards, encloses the field, roof netting closes it off at the top, and a basketball hoop adds to the soccer. All steel parts are powder-coated in matte RAL 9007 gray aluminum. The matte finish mattered to the designer: it gives the court a calm, metallic gray look without shine.
