Saterland, Germany
Saterland ("Seelterlound") in Germany has something special: its minority language, Saterland Frisian (Seeltersk). Because the area was once cut off by vast moors, a language of its own developed and survived here, still spoken by around 2,000 people. In 1991, this earned Saterland an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as "Europe's smallest language island".
Now the youth park has a sporting island too: a SoccerGround Classic Antivandal, 20 x 13 m, with equipment for basketball and volleyball and SuperPlay artificial turf. Have fun chatting and playing!
