Köln, Germany
At Sürther Straße 201 in Cologne-Rodenkirchen, Germany, the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt primary school has a new building. The school follows an inclusive approach where children with and without disabilities learn together. As the old building was not accessible, the school was rebuilt: sustainably, to a design by the practice "Drei Architekten", with two solar power systems, a double sports hall and playgrounds for 650 pupils.
The new school grounds also have a small-sided pitch: a SoccerGround Classic in the size of the DFB mini-pitches, 20 x 13 m, with basketball equipment and a bright green multi-sport surface from Polytan.
