Torino, Italy
For the 2014 UEFA Europa League final, football came right into the centre of Turin: two SoccerGround Advanced, each 20 x 13 m, stood on Piazza San Carlo, the baroque square at the heart of the city.
Between the arcades and lanterns of the piazza, children and young people played on artificial turf, framed by boards in the colours of the UEFA Europa League and by ball-stop nets, while passers-by stopped to watch all around.
The final itself was played on 14 May 2014 at the Juventus Stadium: Sevilla beat Benfica 4–2 on penalties after a 0–0 draw.
