Athen, Greece
In July 2016, in front of the Greek Parliament, on Syntagma Square in the heart of Athens, stood a SoccerGround Portable measuring 22 x 16 m, the standard pitch of the Homeless World Cup: The street paper Shedia invited people to games here as the Greek team prepared for the 2016 Homeless World Cup in Glasgow.
Shedia has been Greece's only street paper since March 2013. It is published by the organisation Diogenes, which also puts together the Greek team for the Homeless World Cup; the team includes vendors of the paper.
Behind the pitch with its green boards and ball-stop nets lie the square's fountain and the Parliament building, and passers-by stopped all around to watch.
