New York, NY, USA
With its World Street Series, Borussia Dortmund takes street soccer to some of the world's most iconic places. After Los Angeles and Tokyo, BVB came to New York on October 10, 2026, and turned Times Square into a black-and-yellow soccer arena for one day, with a SoccerGround Portable right among the neon signs.
Around 350 kids and teens ages 8 to 18 from New York and New Jersey played 4v4 for the Times Square Cup, hosted for the 14th time by BVB's partner Street Soccer USA. The SSUSA Open Cup followed, announced with BVB legend Patrick Owomoyela alongside artists, athletes and creators, and the day closed with the finals and a “Top Baller” 1v1 contest.
The World Street Series is part of the five-year partnership between Borussia Dortmund and Street Soccer USA. It aims to give young people access to soccer and extraordinary experiences at iconic places, with the focus on young people, their communities and the unifying power of the game.
