On May 21, 2013, Piazza Maggiore, the main square in the center of Bologna, became a soccer field: between Palazzo d'Accursio with its clock tower and Palazzo dei Notai stood a SoccerGround Advanced with artificial turf.
On the field, employees of the City of Bologna took on a team of Bologna FC professionals and Italian national team players. Netting all around kept the ball in play, TV cameras were there, and spectators crowded around the boards into the evening.
