Nørresundby (Aalborg), Denmark
In 2013, a new form of company sport had its Danish premiere at Nørresundby Idrætscenter in Aalborg: Kollegabold. For Dansk Firmaidræt and Aalborg Firmaidræt, the first field of its kind in the federation was built here, a SoccerGround Advanced measuring 79' x 49'.
In Kollegabold, company teams play 5v5 on artificial turf, in a shorter and more entertaining format than traditional company soccer. The first season in 2013 ran as a pilot for all of Denmark, with free registration at kollegabold.dk.
Ball-stop netting 13' high, including the boards, encloses the field, and roof netting closes it off at the top. The SoccerLight lighting system means games can be played after work and into the evening, and the boards carry the sponsor's advertising.
Aalborg was the start of a small series: in 2013, Kollegabold fields were built across Denmark.
