Flensburg, Germany
Around 150 kids, teens and young adults visit the Schlachthof youth park in Flensburg, Germany, every day. Run by the nonprofit Sportpiraten Flensburg, it is the result of years of working together with young people from Flensburg and the region. As an out-of-school learning space, with workshops, camps, youth participation projects, a rental and first-aid station and lots of events and contests, it is known and loved across Germany's BMX and skateboarding scene.
At the "Butcher Jam 2023", people celebrated, rode and played soccer in bright sunshine, the latter on the brand-new SoccerGround mini-pitch: a SoccerGround Classic Antivandal, 65' x 42', with perimeter steel mesh, overhead netting, lights and mini goals on asphalt. Of course, that makes us especially happy.
